Discover the true flavor of Mexico right in Queens
There's something about walking into Tacos Y Quesadillas Mexico Restaurant that feels instantly inviting. The smell of sizzling meats, toasted tortillas, and homemade salsas fills the air. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t need flashy signs or gimmicks — the food speaks for itself. You’ll find a straightforward menu with Mexican staples: al pastor tacos that drip with flavor, quesadillas loaded with Oaxaca cheese, and a rotating selection of daily specials. If you’re looking for real-deal street-style tacos without crossing the border, this is where you go.
The location itself adds to the charm. Nestled in the heart of Corona, Queens, the restaurant attracts a mixed crowd — from families grabbing dinner after work to late-night foodies chasing the perfect taco. The service is quick, friendly, and familiar — many guests are greeted by name.
Handcrafted dishes made fresh every time
The magic of this restaurant lies in the attention to detail. Tortillas are made fresh, the meats are marinated in-house, and the guacamole tastes like someone’s abuela just mashed it with love. A must-try? The chicken tinga quesadilla. Perfectly grilled, crispy on the outside, and packed with slow-cooked pulled chicken in a smoky chipotle sauce.
Everything here is built from scratch. No frozen shortcuts. From the tender barbacoa to the fiery green salsa, each component is prepped daily. It's not just about eating — it's about experiencing the soul of Mexican food.
You can also ask for off-menu items or customize your order. Craving extra crema or need it extra spicy? No problem. The kitchen is more than willing to accommodate.
More than just tacos and quesadillas
Sure, the name highlights two main items — but there’s more to explore. The menu also features tamales, nachos, tortas, and Mexican street corn that's grilled to perfection. Drinks include classic horchata, Jamaica (hibiscus tea), and imported Mexican sodas that round out the meal.
If you're not in the mood to dine in, takeout is smooth and fast. Regulars often call ahead, and the order’s hot and ready on arrival. There's no flashy website or app — it's the kind of place that thrives on word of mouth, neighborhood loyalty, and real food that delivers.
What locals are saying
Walk around Corona and ask where to get tacos — most will point you here. Customer reviews consistently praise the generous portions, reasonable prices, and homemade quality. On review platforms, words like “authentic,” “delicious,” and “hidden gem” show up over and over.
One regular mentioned that the carne asada tacos reminded him of his childhood in Jalisco. Another noted that this was the only place in Queens that still made quesadillas with handmade tortillas — not the pre-packaged kind. It’s these small details that make the difference.
Families come here for weekend dinners. Workers grab lunch on their break. Tourists accidentally stumble in and leave raving about the flavors. The consistent quality and community vibe make it a standout.
Tacos Y Quesadillas Mexico Restaurant Reviews
Ariana was craving queso birria, and on a determined quest to satisfy her insatiable hunger, we stumbled upon a restaurant that offered birria, even though it was not on the menu. Ecstatic, she ordered a queso birria. Both she and Helsen waited for the food, which did not take long to arrive. She was pleased with her meal--absolutely delectable, incredibly filling and oozing with flavor, there was so much meat and it was so tender it was spilling out the tortilla. She was being stingy because it was soooo good. I had eaten before but regretted it the moment the lady brought out her food. The restaurant was empty when we came even though it should have been packed because of how good the food was but not too packed because then they would raise the prices... the decor was nice there was a cool gun and a bull head..!! :3
Love the food!! Its really great dont regret coming here and also their agua de tamarindo is the best deffinetly recomend!!
Tacos Y Quesadillas Mexico Restaurant you are simply amazing, I had a wonderful experience here today. The mood is really fun and the team is fantastic. Everything that I have tried was really great and I would return to have it again! Extremely courteous, attentive and professional. Get there!
Tacos done really well here! Always fresh, clean and tasty. Can't miss this place if you're in the area give them a try you won't be disappointed enjoy!!!
Tacos were amazing especially the spicy pork .. the shrimp and the taco Pastor ! Delivery is super fast and the food is AMAZING! Will definitely be one of my new taco spots!!
Hottttt Damn! Great food at affordable prices. I highly recommend you stop here before or after you check out the queens zoo or hall of science. It's an easy walk and there is plenty of free street parking nearby. I went on a weekday and there was no one else in the restaurant. I tried a taco al pastor, a shrimp tostada, and a chorizo sope (sopes?). All were very very good, with my favorite being the shrimp tostada. The tacos come with guac while the sopes and tostadas come with Mexican cheese, beans, and crema, the tostadas are crunchy and the sopes are soft (and homemade) so it was definitely fun to try all three. By the way, this was way too much food for one person, each item comes packed with your choice of protein. Come hungry, bring a friend, and explore the menu. Free chips and salsa will hold you over until your food arrives.
I feel like small places are the authentic ones based on my experinced. I found this place because were supposed to go to another taco place & its close so we ended up here. Its small with cute decor. We got seated & after 5 minutes the place got packed. To start they gave us complimentary chips & salsa. The salsa is perfect, you taste a bit of spicy & smells the aroma of the tomato. Some restaurants if its free then don't expect that it will be that good. For drinks I got horchata & I really like it. Not super sweet & no after taste. For our main dish we got 2 chorizo taco for $2.50 each. Its delicious! I also got shrimp, avocado salad with lettuce, tomato & a lot more. This is perfect! I really love it. Lots of avocado & shrimp. My bf got the cuban tortas, it has ham, cheese & a lot more. He loves it were planning to go back again. We really enjoyed it. Service & food was top notch!
The food is a delight and the attention is excellent 10/10.. I recommend it, it's a better Mexican food in New York.
